Who can receive reconciliation?
Anyone can receive reconciliation who is in mortal sin, who desires the grace of Reconciliation or in need of spiritual healing or guidance. Especially before you celebrate mass and receive the Eucharist. |
My first experience of Reconciliation was in my old elementary school parish, Our Lady of Victory. I was super nervous and kept forgetting the act of contrition. The teachers helped put all the students at ease by explaining to us all the steps and ushered us into the confessional rooms. The priest was super sweet and I felt relieved and happy afterwards.

The act of contrition:
My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy. |
